TRAINING GOALS

The main goals set with this program are:

• Development of new and young professionals that are lacking in the industry.
• Improving and advancing the knowledge of already experienced personnel in the field of servicing and maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning systems and heat pumps.
• Training of personnel following companies needs

Target groups

The program is intended for the upgrading of knowledge and improvement such as:

• Unemployed with completed three-year secondary education, with a desire to work in the field of service and maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning systems and heat pumps that use carbon dioxide (CO₂) as refrigerants (due to the increased demand on the labor market).
• Young engineers starting their career, young students who want to improve in the field of service and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems and heat pumps that use carbon dioxide (CO₂) as refrigerants.
• Technicians, operators or engineers who are transfered from other departments to service and maintenance department of refrigeration, air conditioning systems and heat pumps that use carbon dioxide (CO₂) as refrigerants, based on industries needs.
• Process operators.
• Process managers.
• Maintenance engineers for refrigeration systems and heat pumps.
• Engineers - designers.
• Consultant engineers for production and processes.
• Workers with completed three-year secondary education who need professional development in the area of refrigeration systems and heat pumps.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

The program contains 8 modules with a duration of 70 hours of theoretical part and 180 hours of practical part.

During the definition of the titles and content of the modules, Macedonian standard MKC EN 13313:2011 (Refrigeration systems and heat pumps – Competence of personnel) was followed. This standard is identical to the European standard EN 13313:2010 (Refrigeration systems and heat pumps – Competence of personnel). Also, during defining the titles and content of the program, consultations were made with companies that work in the area covered by the training program.

The training materials are prepared in accordance with the titles and contents of the modules of each program separately and are in accordance with the Macedonian standard MKC EN ISO 22712:2023 (Refrigeration systems and heat pumps – Competence of personnel) which is identical to the international standard ISO 22712 :2023 (Refrigeration systems and heat pumps – Competence of personnel). In May 2023, this standard replaced the Macedonian standard МКС EN 13313:2010 (Refrigeration systems and heat pumps - Competence of personnel).

Coordinators of each of the modules have been determined for successful realization of the training. The coordinators of the modules organize the preparation of training materials, followed by Power point presentations as well as exam questions for assessment gained knowledge and competence of the students.

The program is implemented according to the following modules:

Module 1: BASIC THERMODYNAMICS

Module 2: PIPING, JOINTS AND VALVES – DETACHABLE И NON DETACHABLE CONNECTIONS

Module 3: COMPONENTS AND TEST OF REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS

Module 4: COMPONENTS AND TEST OF REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS CONTAINING CARBON DIOXIDE (CO₂) AS REFRIGERANTS

Module 5: REFRIGERANTS

Module 6: CARBON DIOXIDE (CO₂) AS REFRIGERANTS AND SAFETY MEASURES WHILE WORKING WITH CARBON DIOXIDE (CO₂)

Module 7: NATIONAL LEGISLATION AND STANDARDS

Module 8: COMMUNICATION AND PREPARATION OF REPORTS

Each module will be implemented according to the planned time frame of classes for theoretical and practical part, after which gain knowledge and competence will be assess on final exam.

CERTIFICATE

Verification of gained knowledge and competence of the candidate will be assess after the completion of each module separately both in theoretical and practical part.

After the completion of all modules verification of gained knowledge and competence of the candidate will be assess on final exam both in theoretical and practical part.

Candidates, who will successfully complete the program and demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge and competence at the final exam, will receive a certificate:

"Service technician for refrigeration systems and heat pumps that contain carbon dioxide (CO₂) as refrigerants" according to the prescribed standard of the Public Institution Adult Education Center.

The relevance of the program is in compliance with the needs of the labor market.

The establishment of the program entitled "Service technician for refrigeration systems and heat pumps that contain carbon dioxide (CO₂) as refrigerants" is based on the request of the industries that face lack of professional and competence personnel in the field of servicing and maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning systems and heat pumps that use carbon dioxide (CO₂) as refrigerants.

The program has been verified by the Public Institution Center Adult Education Center with a decision for the verification of a special program number UP1 no. 10-39
